Scotland’s international rugby team might have created their own little piece of history after defeating their greatest rivals but the team is attracting lots of attention for other reasons. Some of the players did not take the knee ahead of their Calcutta Cup triumph at Twickenham.
Scotland’s most popular tabloid the Daily Record wrote on its website: Scotland rugby stars may not take the knee against Wales. Some Scotland rugby stars might again not take the knee this weekend. Gregor Townsend’s squad were engulfed in controversy on Saturday ahead of their stunning Six Nations glory over England when only four players made the act of solidarity at Twickenham. They were heavily criticised after a muddled response to the ‘moment of reflection,’ and attempts of an explanation from Townsend and Scottish Rugby did little to satisfy the critics. (Read more) >>>
