Brutal footage emerged of a Manchester police officer attacking and punching a cafe owner as calls for the officer to be sacked.
A business owner was brutally attacked by a Greater Manchester police officer outside the Kate & Luc cafe restaurant, known locally as a friendly establishment for serving breakfasts, lunches, and dinner.
The owners, thought to be taking part in the nationwide ‘The Great Reopening’ on the 30th of January as an act of lockdown defiance, were visited by officers who seem to have forgotten their constitution and the ‘here to serve the public’ reason for joining the force.
The officer, as yet unnamed, is filmed on a mobile phone camera directing punches and landing on the cafe worker before a second officer helps to restrain and arrest the worker.
Vox Post says:
Punishment must be dished out against the officer with immediate effect. This is not what police officers are supposed to do, and having a public servant like this with shocking aggressive behaviour is harmful and doesn’t help communities. On the contrary, don’t be surprised to see retaliation where the public can easily turn on the police force, and with shocking images like in the video, can we honestly blame the public for fighting back?
